Would you eat pork pies that are 6 days out of date?

Use before 16th August?
I've googled it and someone who worked in a pork pie factory said it should be ok as the pork is cured before being covered with the pastry.

I do use the nose but it's not infallible, it could smell quite normal but still give you food poisoning

When it comes to Pork Fish or Chicken use the nose and if you can touch it sticky is not good, a bad smell should be evident.

Food poisoning usually takes a couple of days to kick in anyway Tom.
Russ, I make you 100% right. Who was it on here once who posted about how we're too cautious with food safety in this country? Spot on IMO.

I ignore best before and expiry dates. I just make my own decision. Does it look or smell normal? If it does then eat.

The Koran allows a practising Muslim to do so if there's no alternative, and there's no mention of a "best before" element in the relevant commandment.
Given that it's completely unlikely that a religious script would imperil one of it's own devotees I'd say go ahead and fill yer boots.

Don't know about the pork pies but, I do know i'll never eat a burger at our new gaff again. Disgraceful.

From the fridge maybe, but left out for a few hours No way.
If it tasted alright it should be OK.

I will let you know Mike, it was pretty warm today as well. I had the 3rd pork pie on my home from work at about 6pm so that one had been out of the fridge for approx 10 hours.
I feel a bit funny now.

you would have been alright with horseradish, it just loses some of it's potency over time

About a year ago I made a roast beef sani and put some horseradish sauce on it. Tasted ok but something inside told me to check the expiry date. It was 18 months out of date.

Depends where they've been kept; if refrigerated properly, they should be absolutely fine.
The 'best by' rules have an awful lot of tolerance in them as long as the food has been kept properly.
